Place & story
The Presentation convent
The Presentation Sisters moved to a Pugin-designed convent at Lisduggan on 3 May 1848. Its north wing contained a large classroom, with a separate room for adult instruction nearby. Adults could attend on weekdays or Sundays. A secondary school opened within the convent in 1938, teaching its subjects through Irish. [2]
A community centre classroom
Waterford Educate Together secured temporary premises in a new community centre on Church Road, Lisduggan, in 2002. Parents painted, furnished and laid floors in the two rooms allocated to the school. Ballybeg National School supplied spare furniture, while the local GAA contributed money towards the opening. [3]
