Place & story

A home for the Tatts

Tattyreagh St Patrick’s established its home at Pairc O’Dorchai in 1979. The club’s account describes an initially boggy pitch and two small changing rooms. Later additions included clubrooms in 2007, a children’s playpark in 2014 and the Aidan Mullan Stand in 2015. [2]

The team won the Tyrone Junior Championship in its centenary year, 2017, defeating Clogher in the final. An Intermediate Championship followed in 2018, bringing promotion to senior football. GAA reporter Michael Devlin’s interviews with captain Niall Keyes and the management recorded the community’s response to those successive advances. [3]

Learning at Blackfort

Sacred Heart Primary School was established in 1966 on the site of the former Blackfort Primary School. Its address remains Tattyreagh Glebe. [4]
