Place & story
A protected landmark
The Dry Arch and its associated walls stand in Carrowreagh townland near Mosside. They appear in the Belfast Gazette’s March 1996 notice of buildings of special architectural or historic interest, under reference HB 5/11/3. The arch remains a recognised landmark on the route between Ballycastle and Coleraine, lending its name to local services. [2] [3]
A pharmacy for the surrounding countryside
A pharmacy opened beside the Country Medical Centre at The Dry Arch in April 2010. A report that July described how it widened access beyond the medical centre’s earlier dispensary, which had served only its own eligible patients. The new service allowed people in the surrounding rural area to collect prescriptions locally rather than travel to nearby towns. [3]
