Place & story
Three schools become one
St Kevin’s National School on Pearse Street developed from separate boys’, girls’ and infants’ schools established in 1967. They amalgamated in 1993, with the combined school remaining on the original boys’ and girls’ school site. [2]
A new school in 2022
Sallynoggin Killiney Educate Together National School opened on 1 September 2022 in temporary premises at Holy Child Community School in Sallynoggin. Its planned September 2021 opening had been postponed because of uncertainty about accommodation. The patron’s opening announcement records that a permanent site on Rochestown Avenue had been confirmed in September 2021. [3]
