Place & story

A church rebuilt

The Diocese of Kilmore records an 1825 church at Killatee, Maudabawn, replaced by the present building in 1915. Architect J. McGennis designed the replacement, whose belfry received a bell from the old church in Cootehill. [2]

Renewal in 1991

Father Dan Sheridan led a renovation of the church and grounds in 1991, with architect Phil Cullivan and contractor P. McGovern and Sons. Local fundraising contributed around £200,000. Bishop Francis MacKiernan rededicated the church on 8 December that year. [2]
