Place & story
The Victorian enlargement
The Irish Architectural Archive records Holy Trinity as a church of 1793, enlarged in 1864 with transepts, a robing room and a three-sided apse. John Jennings was the contractor. The expanded church was consecrated on 1 September 1865. [2]
Evidence in the drawings
The archive identifies a signed drawing in the Representative Church Body Library, also signed by Jennings in August 1864. Its catalogue places this work in Newmills, in the parish recorded as Tullaniskin or Tullanisken. [2]
