Place & story
Building in the 1950s
The Housing Executive’s records date the Clonbeg Drive properties to 1953 and 1954 and describe conventional cavity-wall construction. In its October 2023 information response, the Executive explained that the estate predated its establishment and that it did not hold the original construction or phasing plans. [2]
The library refurbishment
In April 2026, Libraries NI announced Rathcoole Library’s reopening after refurbishment. Work included new flooring and furniture, a rearranged layout and a dedicated sensory and early-years space with a mural and interactive features. [3]
