Place & story
The Termon Project
The Termon Project was officially launched in December 2015, bringing new community and recreational facilities to Pettigo and Tullyhommon. EU PEACE III funding supported a community centre, pedestrian bridge and riverside park. In Tullyhommon itself, the Methodist Hall was refurbished. Environmental improvements and a heritage paint scheme accompanied the work, linking the renewal of buildings with shared public space. [2]
Cooperation across the border
The Association for the Development of Pettigo and Tullyhommon worked with Donegal and Fermanagh councils on the scheme. At the launch, its chairman Martin Eves recalled how road closures during the Troubles had isolated the villages and left young people with little contact across community divisions. The project sought to rebuild those connections through places residents could use together. [2]
