Holiday entertainment
An episode of RTÉ’s Off the Wall, broadcast on 27 July 1981, featured Butlin’s camp at Mosney. Its attractions included a swimming pool, spinning fairground rides, a children’s train and a donkey derby. [2]
A different community
By April 2004, an RTÉ News report described the former resort as accommodation for asylum seekers. Facilities included a crèche, play areas and a homework club. Alongside those services, the report recorded residents’ sense of isolation and limited transport links to neighbouring towns. [3]
