Place & story
A family milling operation
Delaney’s Mill at Rathfeigh operated as a family business before production ceased in the 1950s. Its surviving group includes the mill, a grain-drying kiln and ancillary structures, showing how processing and storage were brought together at a rural milling site. [2]
The miller’s house
The former mill house was built around 1840. Its symmetrical five-bay frontage faces the yard, while the roadside elevation has no windows. A hipped slate roof covers the two-storey house; a coach house and stables stand to the north, and a well is built into the roadside bank to the south. [2]
