Place & story
An 1803 church altered in 1974
The Diocese of Killaloe dates Kilmurry McMahon’s cruciform church to 1803. A dated stone carries a biblical inscription referring to Luke 11:28. The building underwent substantial renovation in 1974: its roof was replaced and the galleries were taken out. These alterations changed the interior arrangement of a church already more than a century and a half old. [2]
