Cartlann Logainmníochta Chorcaí & Ciarraí
Cork & Kerry Place Name Archives

Cork and Kerry County Libraries are the only libraries in Ireland that house a public County Place Name Archive. The compiler of both archives was Dr Éamon Lankford of Cork City who in 1976 first began the collection and mapping of the location of minor placename heritage at Oileán Cléire / Cape Clear Island, Co. Cork, Ireland.

Logainmneacha Chorcaí and Áitainmneacha Chiarraí were the names given the voluntary Cork Place Name Survey & Kerry Place Name Survey initiatives. The bound volumes of the Cork and Kerry Place Name Surveys give full details regarding the operation of the survey, its methodology for gathering minor placenames heritage as well as the oral and documentary sources consulted for everytownland and parish in Co. Cork and Co. Kerry.
